Louhajong Upazilla is situated about 50 km away from Dhaka by road. A bus named Gangchil Paribahan is the only transport system of commutation with this upazilla. Buses leave for louhajong from the foot of Babu Bazar Bridge at Dhaka after every 15 minutes. The fare is taka 70 only.
Tempoo service from Munshigonj sadar to Mukterpur Bridge then Mukterpur Bridge to Baligaon Bazar and then Baligaon Bazar to Louhajong is the way to communicate between Munshigonj and Louhajong.
Besides Mawa ferry ghat is one of the ways to communicate with the 21 districts of the southern part of Bangladesh. Mawa ferry ghat is one of the biggest ferry ghats of Bangladesh. Here three ferries run at a time. There are three types of ferries Ro Ro ferry, Dumb ferry and K type. There are 18 ferries running in this route. This ferry ghat is the only medium of communication with the southern part of the country. The ferries run 24 hours round in between Mawa-Kawrakandi and Mawa-Shariotpur route.
Beside there is arrangement to cross the river in 20-25 minutes by speed boat. The fare is only 130 taka. On the other hand there are small launches conducted by BIWTA. These launehes leave for Kawrakandi and Shariotpur after every 10 minutes.
The fare in Mawa-Kawrakandi route is taka 60 only. Nevertheless, Mawa ghat is an area enriched with tourism potential. One can enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Padma
